What the ATS check actually looks at
Most resumes are read by software before a person sees them. An applicant tracking system pulls the text out of your file, files it under headings like Experience and Education, and builds a timeline from your dates. When that goes wrong — a two-column layout read line by line, a scanned PDF with no text in it, dates it cannot parse — your application is judged on a scrambled copy of your resume.
The ResumeLens ATS check scores how well your resume survives that step, across six weighted factors: standard sections (20 points), parseability (20 points), contact info (15 points), dates (15 points), length and density (15 points), and formatting hygiene (15 points). You get a score out of 100 and a grade from A to D.

What is a good ATS score?
Grades are A for 90 and above, B for 75 and above, C for 60 and above, and D below 60. An A or B means your resume parses cleanly; a C or D means at least one factor is likely to be mis-read and is worth fixing before you apply.
How is this different from a job match score?
The ATS check is job-agnostic: it measures whether software can read your resume at all. A match analysis compares your resume to one specific job description. They answer different questions, and ResumeLens does both.
